Washington Avenue Apartments will contribute to the revitalization of the Morrisania neighborhood of the Bronx in a mixed-use area recently rezoned by New York City to encourage residential development. The building will provide affordable housing for low-income families, half of which will come from the local community, and for formerly homeless individuals and families. More than half of the residents will earn less than 40% of the area median income. The project will include all of the features for which Dunn Development Corp. is known, such as high-quality finishes, a landscaped garden and play area, green building standards and a detailed architectural façade. On-site support services will be provided by Volunteers of America–Greater New York.
