The Rockaway will provide affordable rental housing on former city-owned land in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn. The project has been designed to serve a wide-range of income tiers to provide as many housing options as possible to the changing community. Additionally, over 80% of the units are two and three bedrooms to meet the housing needs of the area’s larger families. Eight units will be set aside for formerly homeless families who will receive support services from co-developer New York ACORN Housing Company, Inc. The site is well served by transportation and is located a half block from the subway.
