Named after the original waterfront railway terminal that was once active on the site, Palmer's Dock is the first affordable housing project being developed as part of the City's rezoning of the Williamsburg/Greenpoint waterfront. Located steps away from the water and the planned new waterfront park in what was previously a manufacturing zone, Palmer's Dock will provide working families with large apartments at affordable rents – meeting a severe need in this rapidly gentrifying neighborhood. Eight units will be set aside for adults with developmental disabilities. The building will include affordable apartments for a wide range of household incomes and is being developed under New York City's new Inclusionary Housing Program, which was tailored for the Greenpoint-Williamsburg waterfront.
