Named after the original waterfront railway terminal that was once active on the site, Palmer's Dock is the first affordable housing project developed as part of the City's rezoning of the Williamsburg/Greenpoint waterfront. Located steps away from the water and the planned new waterfront park in what was previously a manufacturing zone, Palmer's Dock provides working families with large apartments at affordable rents – meeting a severe need in this rapidly gentrifying neighborhood. Eight units are set aside for adults with developmental disabilities. The building includes affordable apartments for a wide range of household incomes and was developed under New York City's new Inclusionary Housing Program, which was tailored for the Greenpoint-Williamsburg waterfront.
